This elegantly simple double spiral is created using just one long strand of sterling silver: It starts in the center of the smaller spiral, tightly swirling outward and counter-clockwise, and then creates the second larger spiral by swirling inward and in the opposite direction. In between the two spirals, the band has plenty of room to create a graceful curve to wrap around your toe or finger. The strand is not quite 1/16 inch in diameter and has a delicate look when it stands alone.

The spiral is an ancient symbol and has come to have many meanings over the years: things feminine, the Cosmos, change, growth, and nature among them. It is also a double symbol of one's life journey: Tracing the spiral outward it represents one's path from the egocentric self outward to a more universal consciousness. Conversely, the inward spiral symbolizes one's journey from the outer material world in search of one's true inner spirit.

* Even though this is an adjustable ring, please be aware that sterling silver is not a material that can be bent very many times before it breaks.
